Brief Introduction  

Jiang Guangrong is one of the first pioneers and stillone of the leaders in the field of counseling and psychotherapy and mentalhealth in Chinese mainland, and he has been working in mental health educationfor more than 30 years. His teaching courses includes: theories of counseling, skilltraining of counseling, practice and supervision of counseling, studies ofcounseling, and so on. His current areas of interests are: 1) the counselingmodes in Chinese school; 2) psychological help-seeking behavior research; 3)process and outcome studies of psychotherapy; 4) psychological autopsy researchfor suicide among college students; 5) Non-suicidal self-injury behaviorsresearch of adolescents. In each of the above areas, he has obtained manyoriginal research results. Up to now, he has published over 100 articles.

In addition of the above research domains, Jiang hasbeen working at the localization of psychotherapy in China, and he has specificfindings and original opinions in the themes of the connection of western psychotherapytheories and Chinese culture, and the directiveness in psychotherapy in China.He also promotes popularization education of mental health in China, byintegrating psychological workers to offer teaching and trainings ofpsychological services for the people with different needs. Furthermore, healso vigorously promote international cooperation and communication in thefield of psychotherapy, and contribute to the cooperation of the Society forthe Advancement of PsychotherapyAPA Div. 29 and China.
